Requests from public authorities

Last updated 8 October 2026

Sometimes a government body, a court or the police asks a company for information about its users. This page says how we handle such requests. It applies to everything we hold, including any information we receive from Meta (for example a WhatsApp phone number) and the information in your CuliNect account.

What we do with every request

  1. We check it is lawful. A person responsible for data protection reviews who is asking, under which law, for which person, and whether the request is valid in the country it comes from. A request that is unclear, too broad or not backed by a valid legal basis is not answered until it is fixed or withdrawn.
  2. We share as little as possible. If we must answer, we give only the information the request lawfully requires. We do not hand over data in bulk, and we do not share anything that was not asked for.
  3. We keep a record. For each request we write down the date, who asked, what they asked for, the legal basis, who decided, and exactly what we shared, if anything. These records are kept securely.
  4. We tell you where the law allows it. If we have to share your information, we tell you, unless the law or the authority forbids us from doing so.

National security requests

As of 8 October 2026 we have not provided any user information to a public authority in response to a national security request. We will update this page if that changes.

Information from Meta

We keep what we receive from Meta to a minimum: a phone number you give us, and whether a message we sent was delivered. The same rules above apply to it.

Contact

Authorities should write to privacy@culinect.com with the legal basis of the request. We do not accept requests through chat, social media or phone calls.

More about how we handle your data is in our Privacy Policy.
